Public Health History Timeline

The focus of the Public Health History Timeline is on public health history in the West, in general, and the United States, specifically. It is not meant to exclude the public health achievements of other parts of the world.

This timeline was developed by Janet L. Place, MPH, Southeast Public Health Training Center, of the NC Institute for Public Health at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. Special thanks to Diana Thomas and Amy Trester, NC Institute for Public Health and Sandra Brauksieck of the National Library of Medicine for their assistance with this project.
