The Southeast Public Health Training Center (SPHTC) represents a partnership between academic and practice partners in North Carolina and West Virginia. The Center's primary focus is on training development, dissemination, maternal and child health, rural public health, leadership and management and competency development and application.

There are 38 Public Health Training Centers funded by HRSA and designed to strengthen the core public health competencies of the current and future public workforce.
